We purchased everything molevalley had left in local branch near Christmas time and used the 10% discount members card, It said no crop packaging on the card but the till took it ok! £4+ a roll of wrap and more off net.

Just had quotes, can have silgorass black at £50 roll now, + 50 p per month increases going forward. Better than last season prices. As others have silotite talking market up, but that's my preferred product.

green silowrap £55 up £4 from last year apparently but price not set in stone. I have a pallet booked at this price and if it goes down i should get it off the next pallet, if it goes up well we see.

Mole Valley and Bridgman’s have had their prices for early season for around a week now
Black Silotite @ £52.75 a roll untill end of March and then suppliers are putting a fair lift in prices so prices will rise considerably
Get it bought today if want Silotite as BPI are pulling their prices as of tonight.

This was via Bridgman’s and it’s alway been the case of mirror each others prices as they are one and the same are they not?

So are you as just spoke to mole, and they know nothing about Silotite pulling prices tonight, and have no new season prices until next week :scratchhead:
Phone Bridgman’s as their rep phoned this morning as they are panicking as prices will be lifting after tonight.

Oldest sales trick in the book.
You don't think Bridgman’s will have bought forward?
Reps tone was concerned this morning and the rep is very straight as reps go. Very hard jumping deadline forward by a month tho but BPI may possibly be playing tricks

Astonishing..... we'd fret about £4/roll increase, and even talk about deferred payments until September.
Jeez...what a sorry state of affairs.

I use mebbe 30 rolls, so this could apparently represent £120 increase in my harvest bill..... I've got beasts which've jumped more than that in value on the year.

bale cycled/covered twice (which I think you're meant to call 4 layers), circa 30 bales.
I've found it's not worth getting too exercised over, and seldom pay it any heed.

When we were using a manual control LE 500mm wrapper, it was 'put more on, get a cleaner sample. Use less, have smaller wrap bills'.
It's fairly relative.

I use maybe 160-200 rolls. Should price go up 20p a bale or just swallow it

use similar here, i wont be swallowing the price increase this time as i did thre last time. however if it was to go down i would remain or drop price relative. it is a business and unfortunalty it is getting more expensive to buy but without it or with poor quality the silage just isnt the same from a bale.
