Bought a roto 165 drum mower back a while , all up together good cover , well made machine ,no rust , recon previous owner mended something in top as blades clash when lifted , how hard to get shaft out or move it , to move one drum a few cogs before i start pulling it apart ? .

you may be able to move the blade holders on one of the drums

As already mentioned move the knife carriers, take the three Allen screws out to drop the saucer off and then just 2 nuts on each carrier to move them , iirc there may be locking tabs on them . Had one for many years and never needed a spanner on it and only got rid when the saucers wore through

was given a box of the PZ type ones with the hump in the middle that man said fitted , basically both blades meet when you turn the drum , im wondering if it was wrong blades ?
Those should be ok. Blades shouldn't meet when you turn the drum
sorry not a very good picture but this is from my Kuhn pz mower which is basically the same. Gives you an idea of were blades need to be

No its nothing to do with the blades
should like Bald and grumpy has posted.

Seems like someone's had one or both bottom disc and drum bit off for repairing / maybe bearing replacement and pot them back on incorrectly.

yes thats what instinct told me , basically both blades just miss but free play of drum allows them to hit you can see damage to end of knifes , ok when cutting but hit when mower is lifted , hopefully if they have had disc off ,bolts shouldnt be to seized , Finished cutting for now so can take cover off and flip mower over to make life easier , appreciate all your input thanks
