Heard of it as a natural organic nitrogen source.

Usually comes from South America I seem to remember. I have a vague recollection it can be used in explosives.

The only time I’ve seen it was in crystalline form, so if you buy any make sure you’re either dissolving it for liquid fert or it comes in granular form.

Plus, it doesn’t acidify soil like AN does, so why would you want to use it?

That would be helpful on the black fen, its always slightly acidic

I am pretty sure it is not permitted under UK organic certification.

It was used here as the top dressing on the beet in 60s and 70s. It was said to be quicker acting than Nitro chalk

Surely the sodium is going to cause issues, fine on beet but most plants hate it.
