Hi All

Starting to look again at potential replacement tractor again following recent property purchase issues, whereby I would be interested to learn if McCormick Tractors are bad - as found these two, which on face value appear tidy examples but read a few posts to say they are problematic - so would be interesting to learn more on issues, also views on dealer would be appreciated (PM to save backlash if prefered)

Also would be grateful if anyone knows of something of similar price range that is considered a good buy, as the current house purchase looks more positive, so need to start looking at options.
Theyl be cheap and cheerful. Good enough tractor with simple layout easy to drive. If your lookin a massey check out glarryford tractors as he always got good clean stuf

Well I don’t think you will find much better than a cx then, are you looking at manual or electric shuttle? Check the synchros on a manual version as not everyone is kind to them

To be honest, I am not a real farmer as many will know - so tractors are not my area that holds a great deal of knowledge on my part, so I am only having experience of an old MF3085 to go by.

The CX105 an 110 I linked to above has this:

McCormick CX105 Xtrashift in very good condition. Year (October) 2006, 5700 hours, Perkins 105 HP engine, 40kph 24x24 power shuttle, two manual spools, two speed PTO, air con, passenger seat. Fitted with Quicke Q35 self levelling loader with softride and Euro combi headstock. BKT 360/70 R24 front tyres and 480/70 R34 rear tyres (50% allround) clean and tidy tractor

McCormick CX110 Xtrashift Tractor with Quicke Q45 loader in very good condition. Year (April) 2010, 5937 hours, Perkins 102HP turbo engine, 40kph 24x24 powershuttle transmission, two manual spools, two speed PTO, air con, air seat, passenger seat, sunroof. Fitted with a Quicke Q45 self levelling loader with euro headstock and softride. BKT 360/70 R24 front tyres and Continental 480/70 R34 rear tyres (75% allround). Clean and tidy one owner tractor

Both of those have a Powershuttle which I consider is bettet as they cannot be abused. both sound good tractors, the only advice I have is that the one with the q45 loader will probably need a good weight on the rear linkage for loader work as the q35 is a better suited size of loader for the tractor, other than that I think either of those will be a good machine

Thanks for the info - much appreciated! (y)

Dealer has been around for a while by the looks of things - so as they are literally on my doorstep currently, may pop along to have a look.

Thank you - they are based in Ireland though, so not sure on costs to import.
I imported my tractor from devon to doorstep for 400 pound thru shamus black transport as he was cheapest i could get. Just if you did see somethin this side o the water at right price it doesnt cost the earth to get it home

Fix the load all ? usually tractors with loaders have had a hard life

?

Didn't think the brakes were any good on the Matbro's from new...

Need to sort the workshop out at new place to fix the loadall.
Need to dig out earth floor, add hardcore, compact, then approx 28m3 of concrete.

Just another job on the list of things needed to do if house goes through this time ?

Hes just few mile from me. Sold tractor very close to me and it gav quite bita trouble and he stood over it all even after the 3 month warranty was up. Customer was dead happy. Cant say much fairer than that
I was in school with him and his brothers and sisters, I don't really know him personally, but the family are straight and well respected
