Autumn aphids and CSFB recognise crops as green on a brown/grey background (hence trashy seedbeds are supposed to deter them both) - if you can make the drilled lines wavy enough it might have a similar confounding effect?

The man's way ahead of the game (y)

Take your tape measure out and measure the 'lines', as you call them. You get more plants per row in 'wavy lines'.

He's effectively increased the size of his field :bag::bag:

Well, that's what fellas that can't drill straight claim, anyway :playful::playful:

again, just like my 'all year lambing'...this is another technique i like to think i pioneered......used to work up beet ground on a monday and drill tuesday....trouble was monday night was ' lads pool night out' :D

I wouldn't think so - we've had garings in Lincolnshire from a long time before we had any POW's.
Can't be sure but I think they're called scoots or scuts??? in EastAnglia.

scoots round here....pikes i believe in worcs:)

Better cover for the game than straight runs?
On game covers it is better as you say to put it in wavy lines as it stops the wind going straight through the cover and also the birds rushing straight down the rows and making one big flush . They seem to flush out better if they can't run through it easy .
