Spraying brambles

We’ve got miles of rabbit fencing that is starting to get covered in brambles. Is there anything I can spray the brambles with that will not harm the grass on the margins?

Triclopyr is the best ingredient for woody weeds. It comes in a variety of blends like those mentioned above but not available as a straight anymore. Spray active growth in spring/early summer but be wary of the two metre cross compliance rule regarding pesticides in boundaries. I've used a hand held hedge cutter to cut excess growth back in winter where it was pulling wire down then sprayed the regrowth later.

Using grazon from a knapsack would be ok wouldnt it as brambles could classed as an invasive weed, if left it would destroy everything else, in early spring it wouldnt kill much else . The others mentioned are licensed for knapsack use IIRC so could be an issue with the clipboard brigade.

Do the brambles damage the fence and let the rabbits through
could cut ing to keep the brambles from spreading but not getting too close to the fence
or is it too unsightly

our rabbit fences are now not needed as the number of rabbits is a fraction of when the fence was installed

I will have to look up which triclopyr products are approved for knapsack use but I think it is only Grazon Pro

Yes, but for miles of it I much prefer my Amazone with rear folding booms and one section switched on;)

Best done May/early June for brambles.
Other makes of rear folding boom sprayers are available!
