Few years on, what's the verdicts on the Musso?

Ssangyong has just brought out the Rhino which is a LWB version... so has a bigger load bay - it now boasts the highest train weight capable of any dc pickup with 3,500kg towing whilst also carrying over 1,000kg in the rear (plated MAM being 6900kg)

They do seem to have sorted the bed size issues out, I looked at one before buying our Isuzu last year, I understand they were very light on the back end unladen which caused road holding problems, I didnt actually drive one as the bed was too short and this model looks quite dear unless a good discount is on offer, not sure what the residuals would be either

I'm not actually looking at them... I just saw an advert for the Rhino and strangely remembered this thread. So wondered what verdicts are from those who owned one. 7yr warranty.

The Rhino list is £29,999... I'd take the Isuzu for that money. But I think it could be a good 2nd hand buy.

List, is the word to note, they may sell at £23K.. what else can you get for that new?

With a 7 year warranty does it need much residual value, I know that after 7 years hard farming and heavy towing here they are all worth feck all anyway, certainly if ought major goes wrong with a 7 year double cab from a farm they are generally a right off.

I think it's a 7 year 150,000 mile warranty. Could probably afford to put it in a skip after that!
Be careful with the warranty as generally it has to be dealer serviced on the dot and everything done properly to maintain the warranty.

How utterly unreasonable of them!

There was me thinking I could just give it some tractor oil once a year and have 149,000 miles trouble free then rock up to the dealer for a warranty job...

In the words of Dragons Den, I'm out :ROFLMAO:

I was interested in these. I went to see the local dealer in February (pre Covid-19) to see if I could test ride one. He apologised as it was at a show so I couldn't test ride it. Wasn't an issue so he offered to let me have it for the morning the following Saturday. I left my card so he could call me during the week to confirm the test drive. I'm still waiting for the call........

Some of these reps need a kick up the arse, fancied a shogun sport a while back so filled in the online 48 hr test drive had no response to this day and ended up with a discovery

Nissan was the same - the excuse was the MD had the car. From them I had an email from them on the morning of the test drive to say the MD had taken the car again and it wasn't there.

I've got a Ranger as ford could t have been more helpful.
