Stable block

I forgot the part of having a horse with anxiety issues - gees they are fun..

More horses in the stables for company - but no, they still want to buck / rear / whiney as loud as they can and kick the sh!t out of the stables...

Oh, and lighting is a topic on its own - need good lighting to avoid spooking the horses due to shadows.

Did you get windows in the concrete panels - or did you simply have none?
Use four feet high panels with plastisol treated tin above the outside side, one block we has perforated tin which lets 90% of the light in but also rain when its windy, inner sides have bars above so they can see each other and the rest of the shed but cant bite each other or get at stuff stored in front, the front of the shed has Yorkshire boarding.

Used to have 30 here. Now down to 6. It's wonderful to have my farm back again!! My fields no longer look like a tank training ground with weeds sprouting everywhere The bitching was constant. When women fight with each other, it makes ruby look like tiddleywinks!! Make sure you have a contract and make sure you get paid in advance. Remember, they are not your friends and will winge and moan all over social media. Keep caravans......or dogs.....or cats.....anything but horses!!! Actually, that's probably not fair. The horses are fine, it's the owners that are trouble!!!

No, I have an old barn where the historic stable block was taken down. I've he outside wall and footings. It's had a "modern" pole barn put over it, but I want that gone and the old building put back. 4, 16ft square stables.

I used this lot, highly recommend https://prestigetimberstables.co.uk/

Be aware of what you are getting into,

£ comes easy but drama is untold. Prime example, we have 1 cretin who insists her horse only likes the taste of square bales, not round! Another who demanded hundreds of metres of new stockproof fencing around her paddock as 'it doesn't cost very much'. Pillocks.
There's plenty of troublemakers and delusion / ignorance is astonishing. You'll also soon learn that 1 pillock renting a stable off you means they automatically become your superior (as stated, the delusions are unbelievable). Those types need pedalled ASAP for your own sanity.
Decide if you're happy with your fields being trashed with 24/7/365 turnout or if you'll limit grazing, and f you install an arena, spend the cash and drain to the max.

Definitely worth doing as long as you know what's coming.

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.
