30+mm, mostly between 4.30 and 8.00 this morning. Guys who travel in say they came past potatoes floating down the road .

Rain at Dundee from 20.00 last night until 0800 this morning, along with some massive rumbles of thunder and wild lightening

Had a lucky escape here only got 10mm. lot of thunder and lightning though. 15/20 mile away they had 100mm. Car park at kirkcaldy hospital severey flooded, cars been floating around and piled up on top of one another. Perth had a lot of rain as well

Very little rain but we've had 2 nights of Fork/Sheet lightening. Monday nights storm went on for 3-4 hours, last night was over in under 2 hours.

It's been really spectacular

I was staying down the road for work last night but no mention from my wife and a pal who texted last night said we'd had nothing at that point.

Don’t think I have ever seen fork lightning like it . Was truly spectacular for 3 hours. Sadly none of the photos came out

A pretty spectacular non stop display of lightning that went on from 7pm through most of the night. It was like a welder was going most of the time with flashes every few seconds.
35mm of rain here but neighbour reckons it's more like 45
Everyone's safe so thays the main thing.

Only about 3 miles from me as the crow flies. Had 18mm here last night and a farm over that way had 35!

Hearing some horrid news out of Stonehaven - high speed train derailed and multiple casualties, perhaps fatalities. Word is that a bridge had been washed out, causing the derailment.

BBC report appropriately cautious, but local reports filling in some gaps.
