Stortz end onto Umbilical pipie

Trying to fit a stortz 5” coupling onto a new piece of snaptite pipe that I have,

I’ve fitted loads before but this pipe is ever so slightly smaller inside diameter and won’t slide on, I can get it over the first rib with a heck of a struggle but it’s nothing like going right the way up.

I’ve tried it in a bucket of 70 degree water to soften the rubber to no avail, tried knocking the end with big hammer & wooden block.

Anyone got any tricks for getting a tight hose on a coupling? [emoji28]

Snaptite are going to send me 2 new couplings with a slightly smaller tail on them. Didn’t realise you could get them [emoji108][emoji1]

Are they Storz couplings are after market ones ? , as we got so hose menders that were after market & they are a waste of time, so slack in the hose the bindings will not tight up.never had any problems with the real deal storz cuplings

Yeah they’re genuine stortz couplings, they’re sending me over slightly smaller tailed versions so hopefully that sorts it [emoji28]

are they 125 or 127mm ?

It says 125-5” on the collar but the tail is 127mm right enough [emoji54][emoji28]

I have been using snaptite for 30 years now must of had best part of 15,000 metres in that time and have always said it is the best. I have just got 1000metres of 6and 5” and it will probably be the last?

Inner layer is coming away outer layer just rubs through if it so much as looks at another pipe. Burst near pump at 4.5bar at three weeks old ?
