Sweden power house of arable production.

I was over there in 2011 and was struck at how much arable there was. Chap we stopped with had just bought another farm which had a fair bit of forestry which he was about to fell and clear to convert to arable.
Ploughing match?

When you think Vadested & others all produced in Nordic countries, they must have a large domestic market.

20% of the population immigrants, that scarces even me.

For some reason I was reading that Sweden was a great farming country, with a mild climate & great soils (The south that is)

I was shocked but looking on a map, The southern tip of Sweden is well to the south of Lincolnshire & surrounded by the sea.
The most southern point of sweden is about as northern as 30 miles north of newcastle.
Beautiful area for sure. Excellent crops. curious to know land values there Getting kinda done with minus 20-30 for a 5 months a year.
Probably not in the southern arable parts close to the sea.

😂 yes, visited more countries through that than holidays- as my wife reminds me 🙈.
agrolux , vaderstadt, chameleon drill. Very tidy, well equipped farms that I saw

Can't think why the Vikings went all over the nothern hemisphere, when they had it so good at home.

Edit thanks for putting me right on lattitude. Will have a look at another map & compare your great country too.

Swedes appear to grow grain maize, that's risky anywhere in UK.

Someone convinced them that the further you go the better it gets. The lure of raping and pillaging other countries beats breaking a sweat trying to farm or hunt.
