Switching from NatWest business account

Interesting - I’m guessing you’re with a Scottish branch too? I’ve got half a dozen accounts in the family - personal and Ltd Co and not been offered on any of them, but am still hopeful that something might come through.

don't know how they choose, I have no debt, never been overdrawn and always plenty of money in the bank, maybe that's why they don't want me lol

We changed from NatWest to Clydesdale, wasn't the most straightforward but after a couple of attempts we got it sorted,£4200+25 months free banking,no borrowings or overdraft so maybe NatWest wanted rid of us.

So you don’t have to stay with the bank you move to for a set amount of time? So you could take the money then move back to NatWest if you so pleased?
The thought had crossed my mind. They have a deadline to get rid of X amount of business accounts early next year. They might want you back after this deadline but not before.

If they will have you, never hear a bad word said about Handelsbanken for those in credit.
We have been with Handelsbanken for 4 years. Great customer service but they are expensive (they charge £25 monthly fee plus a charge for every payment made).
Also their online banking is terribly clunky and painfully slow! We had started putting things in motion to move to NatWest when Covid struck so hopefully a move will happen next year.

Just realised that I'm getting the accounts package called Free agent for free with NatWest, for a sole trader it's worth £19 a month . But my £2k will buy a lot of months.

Had 3 letters in the last 2 weeks trying too get me too switch they’ve only done 63% of there quota it said so they’re trying too push people over... best I was offered too switch is £1250 and the bank I spoke too about the switch couldn’t match my overdraft terms so I gave it a miss... not too keen on banking with a bank nobody has ever heard of either really

Here's hoping they expand this to personal accounts... Not likely to, I guess. I've always run the farm on a personal account, nobody's ever raised a query. Big advantage having no charges.

I chose the Yorkshire Bank because I like their tea.

Silly question possibly, RBS are offering me 1500 to go elsewhere. Have a 12K overdraft facillity which I sometimes use during summer til I start selling lambs. Do I need to negotiate terms with a different bank or do they basically go like for like? Think I know the answer but thought Id ask anyway. Haven't actually looked into it with them yet.

Ask them for £4.5K. They are trying to get rid of you on the cheap. ;)

I looked in to it today and the banks on offer all wanted too go through credit checks and affordability rubbish again so I told them don’t worry about it I can’t be bothered going through all that again

Would like to know what the criteria is. I want to move away from NatWest since they shut every branch going. Never been in debt, carry money in my account. Maybe tell them I’m looking to move and they’ll gift me 4K [emoji23] my sort code isn’t eligible.

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.
