Tea and Coffee

Try a tea spoon of honey and a squirt of lemon juice, left over from pancake day😀. Cool it down with a bit of cold water.
Actually have both of those things in the cupboard so will try it later (y)
Like most things food and drink related, everything in moderation, I do like coffee, but I only ever have 1-2 a day maximum, then just lots of water, add bit of lemon or slice of lime, haven't drunk fizzy drinks in any quantity for years and rarely drink it with anything else added, once you get used to it its easy.
Yes I know what you mean I can't see me cutting it out completely but do think I've been drinking too much coffee especially when I have a pull on it. I know when I've had too much it gives me the 💩💩💩:bag:
must have developed sensitive bowels I can't eat too much bread anymore either or I get bellyache :cautious:
Never understood the appeal of fizzy drinks rarely have them.
Try Rooibos. Not a fruit tea - you can have with or without milk. My only type.of tea now.

You can also get different flavours of tea - earl and lady grey, lapsang Souchong, Darjeeling, might be worth trying some of these?
Never heard of rooibos I'll look out for it. Never really thought of trying a different type of tea though that's not a bad shout
I think my phone is trying to tell me the answer. It tried to autocorrect never into beer 🤣🤣

Drink at least 3-4 big mugs of tea a day. Stronger the better. Leave tea bag in. Loads of milk. Rotate brand of tea about once a month, otherwise become immune to the taste of it. Am I lazy and sloppy.... yes, but old enough not to care what anyone thinks of me 😄😄

I drink way too much coffee, completely addicted.

If I don't have a lunchtime brew then my hangover kicks in about 3pm.
I have a big glass travel mug that goes where I go.. holds 2 cups.
Generally my last one of the day, I drink ⅔ of it in bed before sleep and drink the rest cold in the morning before I get out of bed.
Maybe that's what keeps me going, it was the only thing I hoarded before lockdown, 5kg of instant coffee

other changes I’ve made is to fit proper blackout blinds to our bedroom and dropped the room thermostat a few degrees vs the rest of the house, my new glasses also have blue light filters to counter the screen time and modern leds we are surrounded by

Your bedroom's heated at night? :ROFLMAO: No farmer does that. You want a better night's sleep - turn it off and open the window. And get into a cold bed - no snowflake electric blankets. It's a fact that body cooling at bedtime helps sleep. You just need to adjust bedding to keep you warm through the night. Maybe as tough as giving up caffeine, but you'll get used to it in the same way.

If you suffer with cold feet or knees, as I do, use a hot-water bottle or, much better, a hot brick wrapped in a towel - still be warm when you get up. Easy if you've got a woodburner going in the evening to heat the brick up on.

Decided to give up drinking tea and coffee a few weeks ago as i was drinking far to much

Had a terrible headache for the first few days which only served to make me realise just how much of a drug caffeine must be !

few weeks on and i don’t miss it one bit, i'm sleeping far better and feel generally much better, drinking a lot more water as a result and dropped about 150-200kcal a day without having to eat any less !

maybe give it a go ?

Gave up tea years ago when I was told how the tannin browns your teeth. Can't bear the stuff now - water's just fine. Daily mug of real coffee mid-morning is a treat, but the best bit is the smell from the open bag. The taste is always a let-down.

Maybe it was all about sugar?

i haven’t had sugar in hot drinks for 20 years now

my youngest is lactose intolerant so we have oat milk in the house which i actually started to prefer to cows milk - I do wonder if maybe i am slightly intolerant to lactose as well now
