Texel x Charollais ideal weight

I've weighed them today (new weights are 60kg and 80kg) and looked at their body condition. My smaller one looking at the body scoring charts could do with a bit more condition on.

How can they go from 51-60 and 72-80 so quick?

With me I’d expect a 2 year old texel x charollais should be in the 75-85kg range, rising up to 95-100kg by 4-5 year old. This is if they’ve lambed as ewe lambs mind and ran commercially.

I’ve weighed very few ewes but once weighed and dosed according to weight a bunch of 200 Welsh, averaged 63kg off the lorry

They were last weighed around 4 to 6 weeks ago weighing 51kg and 70kg.They were on a diet previously as they were rarther large, they are only in a small flock and are very dominant at the feeder so get more than their fair share. They are now in a smaller paddock with one other and have in the last 4 to 6 weeks been getting a hard feed 3 times a week. Which is probably why they have gained the weight back. I don't keep the weight records myself so only know the last 2 sets of weights but I'm pretty sure they were much heavier than they are now with the spring grass. They are hopefully in lamb and due March time.
So I've learnt that they are going to be big girls, so now the 80kg wooly rhino's walking the paddock seem a healthy weight/condition.
I'm new to the sheep world so still learning, but the information given has helped. Thanks

I bought some ewes this week that would average about 40kg, they won’t eat much mind.

Originally pure Charollais criss crossed with Texel and Charollais. If they don’t want to stop they go right through you, as my knees attest. They are barstewards to shear, I do them myself but I’m getting too old and knackered so I might find someone this year. I only have 20, got to interest the kids into farming and keep the orchard tidy in the summer and the lambs are great to look at.
If I was to keep ewes commercially they would probably be 65kg shedders put to a char tup.

I shore about a pet flock of about 20 pure Suffolks as a favour to a friend when I was a kid. They were like donkeys, almost bit off more than I could chew there!
