April tractor sales plummet as Covid-19 uncertainty bites

Total tractor registrations in April 2020 were over 50 percent lower than the same time last year, new analysis shows.

They’ll drop production otherwise it’ll destroy dealers if they drop prices as everything in their yards will devalue. That’s used stock and new stuff already paid for unsold.

Most foreign manufacturers shut down for a month every summer anyway.

Priced a tractor for May/June delivery and prices were keener than previous year.
Was built pre shutdown and is home all good.

They are just offering better terms. Got 4 years interest free on tractor we just bought.

Yes I know we'll have paid for it somewhere, before some ar$e pipes up.

Production has stopped of some brands. Factories had to close because of social distancing.

If I hadn't bought a stock tractor delivery would have been September so order books must be quite full.

They will drop production, more profit in one expensive one than 2 cheap ones, especially if there is only one buyer.

Genuine question but why don’t you like it exactly?

I saw one in the dealers yard when we demo’d a T6 and it caught my eye. It’s a T5.140 dynamic we are waiting to try, front and rear suspension and 600 tyres.

the op is about the loans aplied Friday ( bank holiday ) email on Sunday saying the agreement will come soon from a non hsbc email account so look out for it got it this morning digitally signed it and sent it back waiting for the money hsbc not bad one an a half workingdays to signed...

The new T5 is different than the older models. The T5 DCT which you are waiting to try is Stage V and has the T6 cab etc - a big step up from the older generation.
