Michelin Cargoxbib or BKT FL693?

Price is very similar, only £50 more for the michelin. Are they still the better tyre?

1 lasting memory of following a laden trailer round a tight yard on Michelins and they looked like they were going to pull off the rim, speaking to the driver he said that's just what they're like when inflated at correct pressures.

Opinions please...

Our machinery group has a 14t gyrax with cargo bibs and does this,it has had the chassis strengthened is it because they grip too well and stress the chassis?
We also have a 15t rolland with a steering back axle its on bkts and doesn't do this.

CEAT Floatmax 560/60 R22.5 is proving to be a great tyre with quite a few sold worth a look.

Quite a few sold but how long have they been around? Are they standing the test of time? They were offered as another option but only 75 quid less than bkt which is a proven tyre favoured by some of the top end trailer manufacturers at the moment

I would go for the Michelin I no two people locally running them on 16 tonne grain trailers doing lots of road work. One guy runs them at 50psi and the other at 30psi, they look very soft when turning but havnt caused any issues since they have been on.

Only one Tyre Company to think about Nokian . Two tyres to choose ,Nokian CT I think they still do guaranteed it puncture proof in certain parts of the tyre. Or the Nokian country king . Ring Nordic tyres ,best tyres we used. By far .

Nokian weren't even offered as an option on the new trailer I've bought this spring and the new CT is a lot more expensive than the michelin or bkt when I enquired as replacements for another trailer

We have nokian and vredestein prefer the nokians as the vreds are more sussceptable to sidewall damage from granite sets. Interestingly my local tyre place wont recommend bkts for high speed trailer work. Out of your choices would go mich without a second thought.

Nokian Country King or Michelin Cargo-bib easily the best. Possibly lean towards Nokian, wear well, seem to be pretty puncture resistant and abuse tolerant.

Country kings are rubbish! Pathetic shallow tread that disappears really quick and small stones can push through the belt and puncture easily. Total disappointment. Our Michelin’s refused to wear down even on heavy road work and never got punctures but the tread area cracked and broke up when they were not really that old. Like a bfgoodridge all terrain does.. bkt’s have done the best for us and cheap from Terry Elsey tyres.

If I was changing tyres and Michelin were only 50 dearer I wouldn't need to ask anybody's advice. to me this ones a no-brainer.
Tractor tyres... yes I agree
Forklift tyres... agree again

But as per my original post I have highlighted a concern I have with Michelin cargoxbib tyres, hence asking the question

Have never tried Nokian, but have had Michelins and BKTs here for about 8 years.
According to the datatsheets they both run at the same pressure for the same load, you can’t tell any difference by sight.
If anything the BKT has lasted slightly better.

Wouldn’t rush to pay extra for the Michelin name anyway.
