Tyre disposal cost

Disposal is charged at 40p per kilogram at my tyre fitters.

Very close to the American price, of course there are retail charges higher than that, and some used tire dealers will take the old ones with no charge. Never heard of a charge that high though, and certainly not for the tube.

yes, from 75 Series Toyota Landcruiser , hence the tubes & rust bands

We had a good tidy up last summer, decades worth 2.5 tons at £250/ton. Bloody hard work getting some of the very old rims out but dammed if I was going to pay him to take them away and then weigh them in

Had a clear up a few years back, couple of skips of metal sold and then spent it getting rid of tyres.
Cut a lot of the tyres with the disc cutter to get them of rims , still hard work but easier than using levers and hammer.

Any recommendations for firms that will take tyres? Preferably North Wales. Will have a trailer load of car tyres off clamp to go this summer plus a few tractor ones

Exactly what I did, 12” Stihl saw and cut the tyres off, amazing how hard they stick together

Iirc we used national tyres recovery and they seemed to go all over the place,

envirotyre is who i used but unless its a full load 14 tonnes ish there is a haulage charge

We use a disc cutter aswell
