Vaderstad 400 rapid making sure wings are same depth as middle section

Any tips please. Going against the grain I have bought one of these cheap (very old) for my early autumn sowing requirements. Very impressed with establishment behind these but seen several locally where the wings have been putting it in at a different depth to the middle? Anything I need to do? Fit check valve was something I wondered about. I would appreciate people's expertise as no one wants a disaster next to the main road.
Thanks

If you fold the drill out on a level concrete yard, you will be able to get your levels right. The depth markers on the wings wont necessarily correspond to the centre depth marker. You want to get the front/rear disc depth checked , as your tractor may sit at a different height to previous operator.

As said do it on concrete but i would also recommend checking seed depth across the drill width as the centre section will put it in deeper if the wing pressure is too low, I found i need to run it at higher pressure on light land or it is considerably deeper in the centre especially with a full hopper. Excellent drills and as you said great emergence

Slightly off topic will my new vad cope with a few big dead disced up fat hen? Or will it be a problem? I could roll it first.

It should be ok, Just keep the levelling boards out the way they will block with any amount of trash. The firmer the seedbed the better also.
On this point would you roll ploughed and furrow pressed land if dry enough? Medium land mostly. In general it will be used into firm min tilled land but I like to plough after ww before wb. Plan to just whip round headlands with PH otherwise.

If its dry enough rolling in front is a good thing. I tend to just run straight behind a plough press unless really soft. Depends on hp on the front and the tyres on the drill tractor. Drilling some ww after grass now and rolled in front as didn't press and had to cultivate out lime spreader wheelings.. Doing a lovely job.

@flat 10 how are you getting in with the vaddy,???

I know two people who run 3m Rapids straight onto ploughed land. One runs on ploughed and pressed lighting land and the other runs direct into just ploughed land both are running them on McCormick mc130's.
They do a lovely job and leave the ground nice but do seem to cause water it lay on the surface if theres any amount of rain post drilling.

Not tried it yet......
Wanted a 3m but couldn’t find what I wanted so bought a cheap 4m might find I need to change to a 3m. Are they running system disc rapids? As said mainly bought mine to run in min tilled land but would like to use on ploughed and pressed to drill winter barley and spring barley....
