Vaderstad carrier disc size

We are drilling soyabean after winter barley like a secondary crop with vaderstad rapid drill…

first pass we go with vaderstad carrier 650 disc harrow, and after that we go drill…

and have troubles that drill can not penetrate and put seed deep enough, because after carrier pass there are lots of crop residues not mixed with ground…

this year is almost all barley downed by wind, and there are after harvest lots of long not chopped straw, which carrier can not mix with ground…

this is a first year we do that, we usualy sow soya after oilseed raps, and there are much less residues and that combination with carrier and rapid worked…
But that amouth of residues after barley is too much for carrier…

yesterday I borrowed of frend of mine a carrier XL ( hevier model of vaderstad disc harrow with larger discs) and wich can penetrate deep enough to be drilled by rapid…

I did some research and figure out that vaderstad for carrier offers two sizes of discs, and smaller ones 450 mm and the bigger 470 mm, and I have those smaller ones…
Those bigger 470 thrue cutt discs are like they said more concave shape and more agresive with bigger teeth, and they said it can handle more crop residues…

that carrier I have is good enough for all my needs and I am not very interested in buying one more disc harrow yust for that one job, so I would be very happy if I simply replaced disc on harrow I have already had, and achive that few cm of depth…

anyone run carrier with both of them??
Is there a big difference between them??
