Contract rearing standard rated for VAT, 20%Wintering a few cattle for someone. We feed and bed and supply silage. Charging x amount a week should I put vat on the invoice?
I never bother putting vat on sheep wintering but maybe i should be.
Thanks
Rent will get round the VAT, but gain you lots of other undesirables. I would say the VAT is a minor issue, as most likely reclaimed by the owner anyway.Depends how you invoice it (for illustration only)
200 cattle x £4/week is vatable
Rent of shed at £800/week is not vatable
For bedding yes, there is also VAT on silage if it is for a digester.Theres VAT on straw?
Only if bedding not if fedTheres VAT on straw?

Yes definitely on cattle if your feeding them then your providing a service and therefore vat should be chargedWintering a few cattle for someone. We feed and bed and supply silage. Charging x amount a week should I put vat on the invoice?

Zero rated applies to feedstuff for animals. Selling to a digester makes it a fuel, and hence VAT to be charged. Why it there vat on silage for digestor?

I have to charge vat on maize I grow for a digester. Why it there vat on silage for digestor?
20% for commercial fuel. Don't think there is any rebated fuel for tankers, and the tractors should be on white for digester haulage work.5%?
So do fuel tankers run on rebated fuel like tractors delivering to digestors?
