Vehicle Tax and MOT

Had a White Van Delivery Driver crash into me to day, got Reg on photos and his mobile number...did not know his address ...or so he said and did not know his insurance company..could not understand a word he said to be honest...say no more...On searching the Reg Its was taxed but not had an MOT since 2017 ...how would that be possibly?...my mate say its irish plates...3 letters then 4 numbers...Thanks

Should have called the police, I think it's an offence not to exchange details.

i wouldn't have let him move until the cops had arrived on scene.

My wife delivers for Amazon with our van occasionally. They are quite strict on making sure drivers are taxed, MOT’d and insured. Are you sure he was driving for them? It’s not possible to tax a vehicle without an MOT so something doesn’t sound right somehow.
I put the Reg in it says tax due Sept 2024...and a big red sign saying this vehicle has no MOT ...and had not since 2017..

Agree. But hindsight is a wonderful thing.

You might have been astute enough to call the plod, the right thing to do.

But how many of us would have been so pro active in a stressful situation?
Maybe most, maybe only a few of us.

But anyway, it’s good advice worth bearing in mind. Take no chances!
