Vogelsang updates its range of booms and macerators

Written by Justin Roberts from Agriland

Vogelsang has been busy updating and developing its range and will be presenting some new and modified models from the BlackBird trailing shoe series at EuroTier in Hanover.

The international engineering company will also be showcasing the new XSplit Compact system, the VarioAdjust hydraulic adjustment system, and pumping and shredding technology for more efficient slurry spreading.

The company is expanding the BlackBird family with the new lightweight BlackBird Light, which is claimed to be a sturdy unit although reduced in weight.

30m working width

BlackBird models are now available in working widths from 7.5 to 30m and Vogelsang believes that the range can now offer farmers of all types and sizes a trailing shoe unit to suit their requirements, both at home and abroad.

The new BlackBird light is available in 12 and 15m working widths, complete with twin ExaCut ECM macerators without breather outlets, featuring a small footprint and new heavy duty distribution technology.

Vogelsang lightweight
The Blackbird lightweight has been designed to reduce the overall weight of the spreading outfit while remaining sturdy enough to last

The minimal mass of the new lightweight boom ensures that it does not add excess load to the spreading system or to the ground, while still maintaining durability, and they may be fitted to existing tankers.

All of the BlackBird models will be on display at the Vogelsang stand at EuroTier.

Vogelsang has a new macerator

One of the criticisms levelled at earlier macerators was the inability to cope with Irish silage that would often contain lumps of heavy silage that had not passed though a cow.

Heavy duty macerator
The new heavy duty macerator from Vogelsang has been designed with Irish conditions in mind

The ExaCut ECQ heavy-duty macerator has been designed and built to overcome this. It features a chamfered blade and heavy-duty rotor for superior cutting performance and equal distribution of slurry to all hoses.

The company suggests that its low oil flow requirement of 30L/minute extends wear part life by up to 50%, while the front service hatch ensures easy maintenance and user-friendly operation.

XSplit advances

Also showing at EuroTier will be Vogelsang’s stationary system for the XSplit separator, complete with a pump and control unit.

Additionally, Vogelsang will introduce the new VarioAdjust hydraulic adjustment system for the XSplit press screw separator, which allows for easy adjustment of the contact pressure during operation ensuring a reliable setting for the desired dry matter content.
