Volkswagon emissions scandal

I am often seeing adverts from, presumably, ambulance chasing lawyers about claiming for misrepresentation if you have a VW product of a certain age. We have a 'qualifying' Skoda. Just wondering if anyone's tried claiming this? Are these advertising lawyers worth bothering with, or is there a genuine firm to go to?

But being honest who actually bought a vag group vehicle because the emissions were lower and not because they were getting more power and were faster than alternatives.
Is it fair they were allowed to carry on with polluters when other makes struggled and in some cases ceased production... if so why have laws, you could even alter speedos to read 30 mph whatever speed its going and be OK as you didnt know different.

In the US the attitude is claim and the government back this to the hilt, in fact they have given VW a very hard time.. Mercedes have also been taken to task over inherent wiring failures on rear lights. Such claims are not supported in the EU to the same extent. I wonder why?

My family had five Hyundais in recent years. Never a complaint other than a lack of refinement. They build good cars but not at the cutting edge of technology. I think they will be world beaters eventually.

I'd have absolutely no problem buying a S Korean car. I just haven't seen one I like enough yet. I was a big VW fan but they've lost the plot with the latest version of the Golf, it's embarrassing.

But all manufacturers have cheated on areas, like rolling road mpg figures. Now stopped from that mpg tests are done with mirrors removed shut lines taped up etc. I just think that people will jump on the bandwagon of claiming (and i don't blame them if its made easy) when the planet was probably the last thing on their mind when buying a new vehicle.
