Wagyu beef

We would be getting a extra £200/head for wagyu bulls/steers.

We just AI'd a batch of saler heifers. Treated wagyus same as our continentals, male calves killed around 16 months.

In my opinion the meat isn't anything special. We did a family blind taste test with wagyu steaks and morrisons best beef shorthorn steaks. Everyone preferred shorthorn!

The butcher said shoppers just like to tell everyone they're eating wagyu! He's not bothered as long as wagyu on passport.

Got some highlanders for him next.

Just sent our first Wagyu x Jersey in today. Unfortunately, it is all sold so we wont get to compare it with the grass fed Jersey we've got in the freezer (it is perhaps the best beef we have ever had). Sounds like some of the people doing grass fed wagyu off grass for a premium are taking 3 yrs to finish it. Looks like it may be gaining a foothold in NZ.

I've heard before that Jersey beef is very good. Just not a lot in the best places! Is yours well marbled?

was told by a breeder you have to have a strong outlet for burgers as apart from the steaks that is where it goes

Once its through a mincer and into a burger you could be eating anything!

As i said before people just want to tell you its wagyu. Its a great brand. People instantly think if its wagyu it will be superior eating quality.
