Hi, yes, I concurr, I think private businesses will start to move - but until civil servant type organisations move then it will be a part opening up, that was my comment, not meant by the way to be derogatory of your observations. And we are seeing already the potential local skirmishes for advantage for economic victory with the TUC having a go at government about pay and conditions and H&S and PPE and generally getting ready for a few scraps.

I saw a recently retired teacher yesterday in his garden - we go to see bands together. His Daughter in law teaches currently. My friend 'stands his ground over employment' so I suspect on here he would be called a leftie teacher. he does read he Guardian and thei !! But he made sure his daughter joined the Techers Union a few weeks ago as previously she was ambivalent about union membership.

SME's struggle I think to understand collective unionised workforces.

Best wishes,

You got cabin fever @Hindsight with your Hi & best wishes ? You’ll be tellling me next to stay safe

These figures are a bit of a worry!
Drakeford revealed the R number in Wales is estimated to be 0.8 and if it stays at that level 800 people will die in Wales by August. If it increases to 1.1 an estimated 7,200 will die in Wales.
Thoughts?

I think that with the exercising of common sense the R number will continue to fall to the point, within a few months, when we'll have it down to the point where cases will be in single figures. That will mean any new infection can be circled and isolated and things, by and large, will be as far back to the old 'normal' as possible. :)

To all you ENGLISH out there .............

Mark Drakeford has spelt it out on the Welsh news ... YOU are not welcome to cross the border as Wales is still in lockdown.
However, please keep sending the subs.

What do you do about this then?
I found 2 cars parked in the wood when I was fert spreading on Sunday, a mile and a half down a private drive. A couple of walkers told me a family were having a picnic along the way.

They had walked on down the drive, across the border into England, and were all sat together having a picnic on Offa’s Dyke.
OK or not?

If they were quite sexy like @Jerry young bikini clad picnicer of the other day, I too would have sat with them. However if they were like @Jerry fat bloke picnicer, I would have called down the wrath of Mark Drakeford and, like the Scots, "Sent them home 't think again"

He really is a divvy if he thinks Inspector Knacker can police cross border incursions. Moron

This deification of the NHS is getting on my pip.

It's almost like our health service has become the religion and we are a vassal state existing to service it
I agree, we are not isolating to protect the NHS, we are isolating, so that when (more than likely) we all catch Covid 19, there will be space in the hospitals to hopefully nurse us back to health, so we are isolating to protect the population. It is like everyone blaming Boris or Matt Hancock for not sourcing PPE, I thought the NHS had it's own procurement departments, surely if there is any blame for poor sourcing it lies with all the recent past governments for not taking the NHS by the scruff of the neck and sorting it out. Having said all that, I have nothing but the greatest respect for the front line doctors, nurses, paramedics, heath care assistant, etc but again the phrased "Lions led by Donkeys" comes to mind, and our out of control government by an unelected, unaccountable, unsackable quangocracy. An example of which, is the person in charge of the general licence debacle last year, just got a promotion!

On the announcement last night they stated that they are aiming for a significant proportion of the population to not contract it at all - see video below.

without a vaccine, I think it will grumble along in the background and hopefully mutate into something more benign, as the world is so interconnected now, we would have to stop all international travel or at least have proper quarantine for all who come from abroad which I can't see happening.
