Watson have brought out a 'silage compactor'

Anyone got one/tried one? If so any comments?

In principle looks a useful piece of kit in particular for the sides of silage clamps.

Local contractor that does a lot of dairy silage bought one this year, says it’s been a game changer. He does several 4/5 cut dairies with lots of short leafy grass in very shallow layers. Another tractor to run though🤷‍♂️

Why is it another tractor, as some sort of compactor will always be used for such an operation and the tractor can also spread the grass as it is unloaded?

But would they not have ueed a different type of compactor before buying the Watson?
Normally all you’ll see in this area is contractor supplies tractor & buckrake/loading shovel, farmer supplies a tractor to roll…unless you want to pay for the contractor to do it. Compactors haven’t really taken off.
