My one keeps air locking!? ....
From my experience, its usually due to the manufacturer of the tubes. Up until a few years ago they were all fine until morris lubricants tweaked the tubes (i think they supply most of the market) and ever since then i have had had issues with them. Milwaukee just told me to buy from tubes from europarts. i have since found the jcb branded tubes never air lock on mine.

Might just be my imagination but I swear which way up the cartridges are stored makes a difference. Always keep mine with the end the goes in the grease gun first at the bottom.

I phoned up my supplier yesterday and the lad on the phone told me he had overheard his boss in the shop tell someone to take the ball-bearing and spring out behind the bleed port and clean,I did that and mine pumped immediately, hope it stays that way and helps anyone else

Say what size is the ball bearing? Have misplaced mine at some stage between taking apart and rebuilding 2 weeks later 😂

My box of lube shuttle cartridges definitely says “store this way up” the opposite way to how yours are,I’ll try cap down because it isn’t working with the cap up.

Anyone found a lube shuttle adapter for the Milwaukee gun?

I wasn't blaming I was wondering if you remember roughly what size the ball was, as I now don't have. I even placed all the parts in a box to I got back to it. Should have left all laying around the workshop table as normal, never loose stuff that way.

I can't remember but there are maybe ball bearings in a non return valve on lamb feeders which could be similar, that is a real bugger if a missing ball bearing means the gun is scrapped

Yes,but not available in the UK for some reason. Wurth make both the Lube shuttle and 500g screw in cartridge adapters and Metabo do the 500g one but neither dealers will supply them or know anything about them and that's with quoting the adapter part numbers.
There's a dealer in Ireland for the Wurth ones but at 65 euro (to me in the North),I thought it was a tad expensive for what it is.

And mine, was wandering what tubes people use as sometimes give up on it as the air locking is that bad ,but when working cant beat it ,especially for hedgecutter that likes a lot of grease
We’ve got two. Love them.
When changing tubes, screw canister back into gun with new tube inside, release the plunger from captive notch and twist until the plunger cannot be pushed in. Then push the plunger as hard as you can, briefly. Then twist the plunger again and push gently home.
Hopefully this should work as well for you as it does for me.

Great bits of kit but we’ve 2 that have both packed up didn’t bloody register them either 🙄
I was same, have they just stripped the plastic gears and stopped pumping? You can buy new gearbox for reasonable money but getting the little replacement sprockets would be a few quid fix

Bought mine a couple of years ago, good tool but hated digging empty cartridges out as it seemed to suck them further into the tube, problem solved and converted it to screw on cartridges and no need to buy conventional cartridges anymore as all the manual ones I have are screw on
