Is there a big difference between the 255 style and the 46? That one looks pretty similar to mine, just a bit less tinwork and no balcony.
no MPS on a 46Is there a big difference between the 255 style and the 46? That one looks pretty similar to mine, just a bit less tinwork and no balcony.
Now you've started mine doing it! When I first had it, I put the pipes in the wrong way round and got in the habit of pulling back to lower it and pushing to raise, but it was fine. After I read this thread, I thought I'd better turn them round, and now it loses pressure and I have to tweak it. Think I might go back to the old way.and the pressure is still dropping back ?
I knock the valve automatically now I have done so many bales with these balers I would have a job not to do it
that's odd, sounds like it must be something to do with the spool valveNow you've started mine doing it! 200kgWhat sort of weight would a Rollant 44s make in straw if driven sensibly
Approximately how many do bale in season with that rig ?claas 46rota cut here, bought second hand for around 4k iirc put new pick up tines on the outer 3 bands both sides and its now unblockable. Simple to use. Put the knives in on silage and hay, more to make feeding easier, as the cattle don't pull long stuff out into the sh1t. View attachment 692158 I do have another 46, not as well specced though, Standard 4ft pick up, no rotor cut but it does have net tie. Its been sat in the shed 2years and is looking for work. Pm me if you want.
what old round baler will follow grass rowed up with a haybob ?

Not had any in this year. Export job has taken the fun out the older stuff....has @Dave W not sold you one yet??
It will not be the quantity that will be problem it is more likely to be the difficulty starting a bale and the ensuing blockages. My 550 is an early one and is a total barsteward on damp material and worse if long and stemmy. The feed roller wraps with material and soon jams very tight. A pig to unblock. There is a bar than can be fitted which is supposed to scrape the roller. I hear that does not always work.Would a JD 550 with narrow pick up bale hay/hayliage from a haybob row ok?
We had early 550's back in the eighty's, I remember converting the starter rollers and having steel spirals welded along the length of them. A scraper bar was then set very close to scrape off grass build up and prevent wrapping. It was a bit like a cylinder lawnmower, and worked well... A 550 would bale well behind your haybob and make a bale every bit as good as modern balers today IMO.Would a JD 550 with narrow pick up bale hay/hayliage from a haybob row ok?
