What point for CO4?

So I've brought a CO4 to work alongside my Rapid.

I've decided to go for either Dutch or Bourgault (I'm leaning towards Dutch).

But don't really know which point to go for.

So we are blackgrass free so not so worried about disturbance. The CO4 has a liquid fert kit on it so I want to utilise that.

The main reason I bought the drill was for later drilled second wheat which I thought I could put in direct with some starter Fert.

I'd also like to drill some OSR and some beans. I quite like the idea of the wider spacing and I'm thinking of going for a narrow point possibly 1inch single shoot. Will these do beans ok? Or am I barking up the wrong tree?

I've read a load of threads Dutch vs Metcalf etc but nothing explaining the difference in actual point design!!

Thanks.

One inch is ideal for beans and OSR. There are lots of other options for cereals such as open back or twin row in 3” or 5”. Open backs are less likely to plug in wetter conditions as more room for soil to move.
5” is very common for cereals and drills a band if open backed.
If your changing feet don’t re use the roll pin. For the cost of a new pin it’s not worth loosing a whole foot.

I would prob speak to Omex as that’s who we have our standard liquid off. But hopefully a DAP type of product. Why do you say starter fert a no no? I thought if going dd it was a very low N dose to replace mineralised N from cultivation’s?
