What to invest in considering Covid and Brexit looming?

nobody likes to see other business is distress, or people suffering. but with Covid and Brexit just over the horizon there is going to be some distress sales come up and similar opportunities. what do people think would be good investments or acquisitions to look out for be they agricultural or in any other sector? what would you be looking to invest in if you had £50k or £500k burning a hole in your pocket? and assuming you had had your fill of alcohol, drugs and women (or men!) of ill repute and just wanted to invest the money?

We are in the process of buying another farm - well part of it anyway, the bit where theres a profit we can exploit.

Obviously, but what ? - the stock market has thousands if not more of different options, plus company debt, government bonds and anything in between. I'd be happy putting money into some (Apple, Amazon) but less so into others (Enron).

I'd buy shares in the company that produces the vaccine , unfortunately I don't know who it is .

Don't think they're doing too well at the moment with the smaller crowds, less use of cars etc. My cousin is very busy as a florist though - people who cannot get to attend are sending flowers to the family of the deceased.

Too late I think - gold miners have been bought up already and industrial output will be down for the rest. Maybe cobalt mines, but only if they don't find a Li-ion battery which can be cobalt free.

When shoots of recovery are emerging, often it’s easier to buy a ftse or Dow Jones tracker rather than individual shares. That way you don’t have to rely on one company to do well but the average of 100.
I won’t be investing in shares yet that’s for sure

Probably more than one. Maybe stick something on Astra Zeneca, Pfiser and whoever else you can think? The whole sector will likely do well, I'd guess.

All of the above will be fruitless when the state confiscates everyone's wealth and conscripts anyone under 50 into the army. Those who are over 50 may well think they have dodged that bullet but in reality they will be responsible for dealing with the inevitable corpses.
