Wheat planted in the frost.

I'd be interested to know how the wheat is looking that went in in the frost three weeks ago.
Also which method was used, broadcast, combi , direct? I'm asking as I would like to still get some in if we have another frost ,being as the seed is in the shed.

Drilled 2 fields with a Sprinter into frosts on 31/11 and 1/12 one field shallow cultivated and one Terrano’d after Sludge back in September
Chitted but not going to be up for another week or so, picture two weeks after drilling
Thankfully staying mild, I almost prefer Jan drilling as it has less winter to endure but when an opportunity presents you have to take it !

Chitted but not emerged although I think the pre-em isn't helping because everythings been slow coming through this time. Luximo and Stomp mix.

There are plenty of countries around the world that would seed in the frost as a matter of routine, they call it dormant seeding, because it allows them to get ahead in a short growing window. However the practice in this country is at best a gamble, it really depends on the weather after seeding. If you work on the principle that a seed really needs to chit to become safe from rotting you can have a wild guess on how long that might take in the weather conditions at seeding time and whether you think that on the balance of probabilities that it’ll stay dry enough on your soil type for the seed not to rot before it chits. Once it has chitted it’s normally safe after that
