Which Limousin bull?

Nice young bull. How many cows did you put him to this time ?
He’s been with 30 cows from May to some time in early July then swapped to a batch of 20 odd a different batch. He had them until August then went in to a batch of 60 ish then he went inside in late August. Sounds a few but we are calving all year round and one of our stock bulls has been in with the others when he hasn’t if you catch my drift. So it’s not as many as it sounds.

Has he sunk. My young bull was with 20 but has sunk quite a bit.
will have to feed him up this winter

He has a bit but he’s held himself together well considering. He’s not carrying the sale weight but still a very solid fit bull. We have learned not to give them too much stick at first. He was getting a fair bit of hard feed when he went in at first not getting as much now silage mainly.

The fella I bought him off feeds a silage based ration so they are less likely to melt. They are all boiled up for the sale they have to be it’s trying to pick a bull that hasn’t just had mainly hard feed.

Yes i always run one, got an unregistered grandson of vantastic here now. Looking at sales pics and the few ped sales i go too i like the look of bulls with vantastic on the dam side though if i could afford them and have the choice.
I have two other bulls with vantastic in their breeding too. They get well enough one gets decent on any cow the other gets very well on good cows not so well on poorer types
