Why can't wind fallen trees be cleared?

If you don’t manage woodland properly and clean up wood properly and just leave it alone and this happens everything dies and it all has to start again been there seen it very scary . I can see it happening in the UK with this rewilding ,if we get a dry year all that dry bushel land going up in smoke.
Which will be reported as the devastating effects of climate change

If only clear fallen trees if they are in my way. Why would you clear them in the middle of a forest?
Granted, the "forest" I am used to are mostly strips between land. Or my land is cleared pieces in a forest depending on your view.

I believe the argument about fire risk is spurious, here in the UK, forests do not normally burn, moorlands do, but only when they are not grazed properly and there is a build up of dead and desiccated grassland (this is a fault of conservationists continually wanting to reduce or even stop all grazing). My answer for what it's worth, is, moorland - mob grazing (with more animals), woodland - let the trash lay and rot down (possibly intermittently graze the woodland too)

Your right forests dont normally burn in the UK but times are a changing. They used to say forests do not burn in Siberia but not any more. Plenty of Woodland Trust forests have burned but then you could be cynical and suggest thats the management funding model that actually works.

what they fail to mention, and again common sense tells you? the biggest threat facing the world and here in the UK is population growth, and by that the development that brings, something like between 12-30,000 acres a year of land mostly farmland lost to development? the USA is losing a staggering 15,000 acres a day?.

Exactly that.....and then that burden is placed upon farmers to solve!

We've lost more than xx% of our wildflower meadows......the assumption you're led to is that farmers have been doing this through intensification, sprays, fertiliser, etc. Yet a significant amount of it would have gone under housing also.

I suspect most of them disappeared during the last war, on orders of the govt, with a steady insidious decline ever since.
