I believe under current defra categories anything in grass longer than 5 years is classed as permanent pasture which could well be quite a lot of the fields that go into an arable break yet I would say by most farmers definition I don’t have any permanent pasture.
I’m sure all these things come about through good intentions but there could be unintended consequences, I might have to resort to increased use of the ploughI think with the loss of wire worm seed dressings 5 years will be longest rotational grass will be left down for anyway.
