Woodheads

Google tells me that Woodheads supply Morrisons is that right ? Then this will have come from Morrisons.

I would suggest that anyone being asked to provide their farms carbon footprint, email them back pointing out that all the problems re co2 emissions are the other side of the farm gate from you. Tell them that you will show them yours if they show you theirs, ie if Morrisons can show you a carbon calculation for all of their retail/distribution/ operations, then you will give it a study before deciding whether to calculate yours.

I really wouldn't go down the line of trying to work it out. Thin end of a very thick wedge. If you buy in to it now, it will be red tractor all over again; a stick to hit you with, with no reward.

Totally agree ,dangerous road to go down . I would be pointing out that we sequestrate carbon and do not have a footprint as we are actually carbon negative. Can they say the same?

And there you have the absolute travesty of it. We - ie our national representative bodies - should be shouting from the rooftops about PP being the most stable, long term carbon store we have in the UK.
Instead, they - the NFU, the AHDB - continue to apologize for the industries environmental impact, saying that there are less cows than there were, that we will try breeding them to produce less methane blah blah. They want sacking the lot of them.

Might be an interesting exercise to do if you have time (and use the correct data/online calculator) but I wouldn't be in a hurry to share it with a processor. Next thing they'll be asking for your cost of production.
Well I have done a carbon audit on the farm but it isn’t worth the paper it’s written on because I am not allowed to offset any of the carbon produced with what I am sequestrating. It was done through the beef efficiency scheme.

they probably already know all of your business anyway, to get your cattle results same day you have to change your google user account on your computer to their farmline account which means they have access to everything on your computer,or you got to wait a week and pay for a paper invoice

Really??

Sounds like a rather surprising invasion of privacy, if true....

Couldn't agree more.

I wonder is there something to be said for the fact that we moan about our carbon footprint not being accurately represented however we are not willing to reply to said emails and/or letters in an attempt to correct the presumption!
