“Yorkshire’s biggest agricultural machinery show is all set to go ahead with organisers reporting a surge of tradestand bookings as further coronavirus restrictions look unlikely to happen.
The Yorkshire Agricultural Machinery Show (YAMS) which is due to take place at York Auction Centre on Wednesday, February 2, hosts around 200 trade stands showcasing the latest in farming machinery and technology.
Founder of the day-long event, Richard Tasker said the team was very much looking forward to holding the event once again following its cancellation last year due to the coronavirus pandemic.
But he stressed, the safety of everyone exhibiting and attending the event was of paramount importance.
“We are aware the Covid Passport Regulations for large-scale outdoor events come to an end on January 26 and may not be extended. However we will remain in close consultation with the local authority in order to ensure we meet any further guidance issued by the Government.”
Since its inception in 2014, YAMS has gone from strength to strength with the last show, staged in 2020, hosting 230 trade stands ranging from large established outfits to small, innovative start-ups.
“YAMS provides an opportunity to see what is on the market and discuss the options with experts all under one roof, which is particularly important as businesses look to futureproof themselves through the Agricultural Transition Policy.
“I am delighted to say the 2022 show is shaping up very well in the circumstances with staff and product shortages. There is a near full house of exhibitors from all over the country, covering a wide range of products and services.”
It is always important that the show attracts new and varied exhibitors each year and this time it includes Greentech from Driffield with a range of forestry and woodland equipment including wood chippers and stump grinders.
BoviAid from Boroughbridge with its non-invasive, accurate, convenient and time saving calving detection systems and Allium Organics from Alne, York, offering organic fertilisers and soil conditioners as well as biomass services, woodland management, chipping and generating an income from timber and brash.
Just over the border at Market Rasen in Lincolnshire, Ilex Envirosciences will be travelling to York and sharing their advanced nutrient tools including foliar nutrition, bio-stimulants, seed treatment, water conditioners.
“As well as all the main dealerships there are also all the smaller specialist engineering businesses and a whole host of interesting and diverse stands to visit,” Richard said.
These include security specialists, Cubtech with its range of CCTV and calving cameras, Glendale Engineering with a remote controlled cattle crush and range of sheep and cattle feeding and handling systems and Harvest Installations which manufactures award winning constant humidity controllers. The Rural Payments Agency, a regular at YAMS will also be on-site to help answer questions on BPS, CS, ES and RD schemes, plus the new Environmental Land Management Scheme and Sustainable Farming Incentive.
