I’m not 100% sure as it was organised by digital farming but think it was for press only hence why no publicity

Having listened to it, you are right Phil - was just a press thing not a full launch. However was interesting Yara are launching two/three new products. A sensor you clip onto your phone - Irix (to tell you how much N to apply), a software program to help you create variable fertiliser maps - atfarm and a "drive" program to help you do variable rate spreading even if you don't have a variable rate spreader. Ie the app on your phone tells you how fast to go based on a calibrated standard for your spreader.

Here are a few screen shots from it:

I did ask and the software doesn't do growth stage recognition yet. And using the handheld devcie the reccomendation was to do 30 measurements in a field to get an "average" of how much to apply. Which means it will take you quite a long time to both go to the fields and do the measurements. But the time translates to accuracy.

The focus was very much on increasing nitrogen use efficiency which is down as low as 40% on some farms up to a higher avergae accross all farms.

They didn't really have much on the drive app, but I think that was the thing that will bring most benefit as you could use it even without a variable spreader.

Pay as you like - if I understood this correctly, the first farmers to try it are going to be asked how much the service is worth to them and only then will a pricing model be set.

Not sure I agree with this, let people have a go FOC and however needs a structured fee, however all in the hands of digital farming so I'm out of it

handheld device same principle as current N Tester need 30 click for accuracy - quite a process but if saving nitrogen then its a worthwhile process and agronomically the 30 clicks is best......I couldn't see the point of reducing the clicks and reducing the accuracy

I think ATFARM could be big, satellite VRA with the 20 years worth of N Sensor data behind it - and it is very very easy to use, I can create maps in 2 mins

Yes - looked really easy to use and setup. I did like the way you could go back in time as well.

I have to say I found that a bit odd. Either offer it FOC for first 12 months to get buy and then start charging or just set a low model. However, I assume this model has been used in the countries this has already been launched in and it works. So just because its new, doesn't mean it won't work. I just like clarity personally.

Why can’t someone make one bit of software that can do everything we need on farms and is easy to use. Could end up fert on yara, seed on soyl, yield prediction Rhiza, COp’s omnia, ab and drainage line storage on gatekeeper. None of them do enough. Please someone do this!
N clicker on phone looks brilliant on another note!

Would love to tackle this, but it would cost so much to build that it would be uneconomical for farmers to subscribe to.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread but didn't see the point in starting a new one with apologies if I have missed the current thread. Just wondering who listened to recent Yara Webinar last week and what everyone's thoughts were. I quite enjoyed it
