Must say that my instinct [and daughter] tell me to get my deposit back before people start queuing up for their money back. I don’t want a car-type body and not particularly a van. I want something along the lines of a superior cross of an old Defender 110 hi-cap pickup and a Ford Ranger double cab. A king cab style and size 130” wheelbase pickup would suite me great. A rough basic version of a Discovery, not so much.

Crikey - just had a look on autotrader at what people are attempting to sell their defenders for. I could maybe swap my reasonably basic (metallic, HD wheels n tyres) low mileage ‘54 defender and buy a mid-range new defender!

I won’t do. Obvs.

Might start using the ballache immobiliser more regularly though!

Boris would be better not affecting the employment prospects of Ambassadors and leveraging a deal with Trump and others so we can get the Toyota Landcruiser pickup here. No EU, debunk the emissions stuff etc

The 4.5L V8 turbo on the crew cabs sound nice, though they are not cheap, about 70K AUD I believe for a base models, so around the same as the rumoured £40K for the new Defender.

I think it’s nice to see Landrover actually doing their own testing and finding the issues rather than just launch and let customers find them for a change

Breaking down is exactly what they want these test mules to do

Didn't they invent laybys just so landrovers had somewhere to park safely out the way for when they break down . They were to be called landy parking bays but they thought that was a bit hard so called them laybys .

In the History of Morgan Cars, every Morgan was given a test drive around the Malvern Hills by Bob (?). In the days before mobiles he was given 10p to phone the factory if the car needed towing. His proud boast was that he had never had to use it as he could always get the car going and back to the factory. ;)

JLR are rumoured to be about to be bought lock stock and barrel by PSA. Current owners Tata deny this. Methinks there's no smoke without fire and that the deal is being discussed at the highest level with a view of doing a deal if at all possible. Whether it closes or not is another matter.
What's your opinion on this .
It's got a stick change which I hate

Is it an MG? If so they have a good dealer selling them locally and they are pushing them more and more, because they are cheap and Honda have lost the plot. As you know, Honda and Renault are their main franchise.
What do I think of it? Its not cheap enough.
