the cost / price of parts

The price of parts is getting to the point where they are so greedy it encourages you to look elsewhere. We had a potentiometer go on the combine. NH wanted i think it was £123, the part from the electronics company that made it was £23 but minimum order of 20, Dave King electronic £30 and some on here thought it was fine for NH to charge that. To make it worse NH didn't have the part in stock.

Main dealer is always my last port of call. It depends what it is of course but I always know they are going to shaft me beyond the products manufacturing cost.

For the most part it's the manufacturers who set the prices not the dealers. If the manufacturers could just see they are losing out by being so expensive. If they were a little more competitive they would get the sale. How many of use would go through the hassle of searching for parts if they were only a couple of £ more at the dealer, but a few hundred and we all start to look.

i priced up a gasket set for the compressor on my N H combine £250 this seems rather high as i bought a complete worshop compresor with motor for less
Is it not a wabco compressor? Not many manufacturers make there own air systems, 90% of what I’ve come across have been wabco. Parts can be found much cheaper.
