Don’t know about weight but I do know there’s a lot more straw in a 5ft bale than a 4ft bale when it’s in the chopper bedding up, tried some 5ft ones this year and a bale does a lot more cattle.

Not sure on the weight but I turned the pressure up to full and baled a few 5ft bales.seemed to take forever to make a bale.the baler is a vicon and you can set density of it where ever you like.also dropped a gear give it time to pack it in.

When I put them through the bedder must of been at least half a bale more in it to what I'd normally bale.

We got a 5 x6 round baler in 76, it was an ih with the big brass bell which rung when the bale was made.
Hay bales were 600kg
I think there is a place for them now.
Esp if you store outside
Glasshouse , do you know of any tube line wrappers
We had a 6/5 Claas and welgar rp180 , put sleeves in them to make 4 ft 6 wide bales used to make 7000 smoke when into red and back door opening , and Popeyes arm pulling bander put 3 tubes on in end to make it quicker

we bale our hay and straw into 6’2 rounds with the vicon...certainly packs some stuff in
