Landrover chassis

Just thinking if replacement couldn’t be bought the old one could be used as a pattern but if it’s rotted away …
Level of rot is debatable but MOT examiners still vary and this one had been lenient in previous years. BIL doesn’t want to see it scrapped so he will probably end up putt this hand in his pocket to create a classic - he’s 78🤔

you must all like your landrovers for some reason  been driving ours for the past 6 weeks while shepherd was off injured and i'm certain it's the main reason my dodgy back is playing up again, bloody terrible thing to drive and its a modern 13plate, far better spending your money on a more comfortable jap pickup
I do not put a hilux down as comfy. Gives me a terrible back.
You can’t talk about putting a chassis on a jap pick up either as the body is through before it

Why do you have one of you don’t like it ? Sell it ?

if you watch "Maker" on youtube (great defender conversions) there is a bit about Marsland chassis there where he shows the stamped numbers requested

I checked back on my emails - it was Richards Chassis who would not stamp it for me.
I'll ask Marsland to see what they say.

Has anyone retro fitted the new led head lights to a Landrover ?
There’s loads of landies with retrofit led headlights and it appears a very easy fitment and will deffo be going on mine when I get round to restore it, but I'll also swap out the indicators and sidelights etc to match 👍

I re-chassised my 110 10 years ago with a Richards galv jobbie and it still looks like new. I also shotblasted and repaired the bulkhead and just about every other component on the truck with iron in it and had them galvanised too. Luckily I had a mate with an engineering shop who was sending load in to be dipped each week so could tag the bits on to his jobs for peanuts. The bulkhead did cost £40 to dip mind :) It is by far the best thing you can do to a Landrover long term. Everything else is just so easy to maintain and you actually don't mind spending on servicing and keeping the thing in tip top condition if you know the base vehicle is not slowly rotting away beneath you!

As far as the chassis number goes, I cut out that section of the old chassis outrigger and had the piece galvanised and I then sikaflex and riveted the section on an out of the way part of the chassis that you would only look at by accident. I know it is there, no-one else needs to know where it is unless they need to! I also fitted a new servo unit so had to relocate the vehicle ID plate anyway.

Had my td5 on lift other day, having steering looked at. When down and talking to man, I said well would not want to be with out ot and find it comfortable to drive, he said but you are the correct build for it, not over 6ft or 15 clem so you slide into the seat others have to have window open just to turn corner. He also said they would do new chassis fitted for £6000, but that was basic change.
