Yeah I’m fair sure he’s not.Ahh not so good that @Karliboy
odd we had one the other day that just wouldn't suck, first one we have had like that for many years, had to tube it then it got going,
first thing I will ask is are you 100% sure he is not sucking ?
Good calves I had same issue , leave them locked in yokes now and fill them with water4 from the last 4 days
Last one is this mornings but mother prolapsed straight after calving. got vet to put back in and stitch up and the bugger pushed it back out ripping stitches through flesh so vet back out to re do hopefully holding this time.
I’m a bit miffed as it’s one of the better cows and always has a cracking calf no bother and this is her 4th and will be her last sadly I think .View attachment 957341View attachment 957342View attachment 957343View attachment 957344View attachment 957346
Thanks.Good calves I had same issue , leave them locked in yokes now and fill them with water
if I am in the yard close by as long as I dare, obviously wouldn't go of and leave them unattended to much the one in question shoved it out straight after calving and vet put it back in and I said are you stitching it and know it will be fine was the answer from the vet and an hour later out it came again when she lay down. My calving gate yoke has a bend in the head bar at the bottom so if one went down it wouldn't hang and its next to a division gate so can give extra room and I just put calf in front of her in feed passage with a couple of sheep hurdles around it ,Works for me ,Have you got a calving gate ?Thanks.
Fill prolapse with water? How long do you leave them
For?
