I suppose Stansted airport is relatively close to Cambridge but with the exchange rate as it is, it should be close to your budget ant TFM is one of the largest Deere dealers over here.

Thankyou for your reply. Stanstead is probs just over an hour away so not too bad. I will have a look at the link. Thanks again.

Might be hard found, why not the one in holbeach?
Well it looks nice from the pictures but lot of rust on the edges of panels and all up on the engine bay. Its at £55k as it is was supposed to be harvest ready so they had a look through it and to tidy it up and get it harvest ready they then wanted £61k for it. massive list of bits that it really does need. And its got a hole in one of fibreglass/plastic side panels. Just felt with the hours and condition of it its not worth £61k…. When i can but a c670 with lower hours, much nicer and more output for £68k.
i am spoilt with the machine we currently run an old 1065 and she has been brilliant and she really is immaculate inside and out and i think at 39 years old she goes well and paintwork is all shiny and no rust anywhere im expecting something at less than half its age and four times its value to be half tidy

Big jump up in technology and capacity, expanded? I loved our 1065. Surely it’s more like 10x the value?

Yes took another 100 acres on so got just over 300 to cut now and were on the fen so soon gets damp in the evenings. We also do a lot of flail mower and hedgecutting contracting do i cant afford the extra time sat on combine. Our 1065 is brilliant and she will be staying here as well as im sure what ever else come will not be as reliable. They offered me £6000 as trade in so guess shes worth somewhere between 8-10k?

Wish we had kept ours. How about a 2264/6 nice one in last farmers guide.

Okay I understand you now. From the pictures I have seen it’s look a very straight machine but then again pictures can be deceiving. I find it strange that a genuine JD garage wouldn’t have it harvest ready? Im currently on the look out for a 550/560 also!

yes they look a lovely combine dont they! If you are close to holbeach it would be worth having a look at. Well i thought it would be harvest ready for £55k what its advertised at but then i wanted the paint sorting and they then said it needed loads more parts. the moisture meter has also stalled or frozen and that was included in the £61K. its clearly been outside for some time and the reel drive gaurd on the header looks like someone has had a set of tin snips round it.

Yes I think they are very smart. I also like the compactness of them in both width and length. Easy to get around narrow lanes etc. I’m not near holbeach unfortunately im across the Irish Sea. If it needed a few belts etc that wouldn’t deter me too much.

according to their list belts, rubber gaskets, several chains including tailings elevator chain basically £4000 in parts and £2000 in labour. i have a really good combine supplier near me and he said for its age and hours it really wants to be all done for £55,000 so the £61k put me off. hopefully my other man will find me something!

Sounds like she needs a good few quid spent on it. Always hard to find that middle ground between condition and hours of machine and being within budget.if your man happens to find two please give me a shout 😂
