Usually what happens is the troughs freeze then when it sets away again the cattle rive the service box off and flood the place

Been -10 here couple of days , got a load of slurry spread and got a day mucking out tomorrow, keep shed doors closed and dont get frozen water much had one this morning but 1 kettles worth of water sorted that , fortunately the pigs are finishing stage plenty heat i think they are living it up on warm water

Was thinking about putting a fence up for the newly scanned singles, BUT the idea of pissing around with a drill to get the posts in made me say sod it, and put the muck spreader on instead....

Count yourself lucky, November, December, January we aren't allowed to spread at all.It's good for gettin a bit of muck on, oh no wait, we aren't allowed to spread when it's frosty are we!

There are a lot of things not allowed in farming!
We have a household water heater like in an airing cupboard in our old dairy that takes some beating because you’ve got so much volume we’ve only had 2 frozen today but tipped a bucket full on each and came back in 10 mins both were runningAye kettles best invention for that job, used to use blowtorch
