Are AirPods worth the money?

Santa brought me a pair this year, so far they’ve been in a lot, love the ability to take a call without having the phone to my ear, and then reverts back to whatever I was listening to after the call without fiddling about with the phone.

I was worried about them falling out or becoming uncomfortable after a while but neither concern has been realised. I had them in for 4 or 5 hours yesterday and forgot they were there.

Had a pair of shokz for over a year. The bone conducting ones with a hoop around the back.
Absolutely fantastic and can still hear other noises.
We complain about walkers and cyclist with airpods in and unable to hear road traffic etc then we wear the same for working?

That's what I thought. When I'm milking I'm listening for cows kicking off, a clawpiece that needs straightening up because it's sucking, the clatter of a gate off its hinges up the cubicles, a dip in the running of the machine, and any number of other sounds that tell me something's wrong.
Too much to be aware of to wear them in our parlour 😕

Have a look at that Twitter-er’s other tweets, and then consider the level of health and safety regulation we have in this country. I wouldn’t be taking any advice from them.
That was just a quick search, I’ve seen a few showing the same thing, not something i know much about but it looks a genuine concern.

I got a pair of ‘Beats’ earbuds for Christmas, they do seem really good but I do wonder if wearing them for hours daily might not be a great idea.

If you've got the basic ones, you can still hear (and see) any problems, if you're anything like competent. There will always be those who get too distracted and ruin it for everyone else, but I think wearing them for a boring repetitive job makes it more bearable. Should we take radios and back windows out of tractors?
I picked apples for a season a few years ago as a part time job, we were not allowed them as we'd be instantly killed by a tractor according to them.
Made the job a misery and won't ever be doing it again.

Hello all. Looking into getting AirPods so I can listen to music while milking but are they worth the money. I didn’t actually realise they were so expensive. 🙈. Anyone using them and how do you rate them? Thank you.
Yes. I’ve had various wireless earbuds over the years, finally took the plunge and got the AirPod pros, these are by far the best.

They updated themselves recently with an adaptive mode where they cancel background loud noise but recognise human speech and let it through. Also, with an iPhone, if like me you have dodge hearing in one ear, you can upload an audiogram to it and it will boost the frequencies you need in the bad ear, like a sort of basic hearing aid.

Also, if you leave them somewhere you can track them down with the find my iPhone app.

Next minute : "We can't find any local pickers" 🤪

Don't worry about not hearing milking noises, you can hear everything just fine - cups slipping, cups being kicked off, pulsator playing up, meal feeder auger running and feed dropping etc. Sadly, you can even hear the idiot that turns up in the middle of milking and is trying to get your attention for some reason.

Forget about airport and get these...
I've had a few audiotechnica things and they're v good for the money because they don't spend anything on advertising. These earbuds are slightly different to airport though, they're slightly harder to get into your ear, but once they are they sound far better.

I think airpods are too expensive. Much that I like apple products they were not for me.
I have Sony earbuds. Got them from JL;
Fantastic!
I use them all the time.

Sony earbuds and my elderly iPod which is hard wired through JVC earpieces, although I still have a ‘dock’ which can play out loud but I never use it.
Massive library stored on the ipod and either music or more recent stories on the Sony units.
Listened to via my iPhone SE
