Hi all, just wondering for those who cashflow and yearly budget what you allow for this?
Mine is currently forecast to be running at 6.4ppl and am just wondering if that's overkill?
That includes doing all my own silage and most cultivations, the exceptions being, spraying, direct drilling...
How best to do it? If they are chopped will they go through a diet feeder ok? Or are they too much hard work and diesel use? Can you mix other stuff in with them I.e blends etc with an auger bucket?

full time staff member, had many a telling off for cab smelling of smoke over the 2 years he's been here, but has always denied it. I've always been suspicious he either smokes with the back window open and hopes I don't notice, or stands in the doorway on a rainy day to save...

Here's a useful 40 acres of beet and the home built machine for chopping it. Processing would be a better word. Hopper holds 750 kg and it gets through the lot in little over a minute. It chops quite fine and 'processes' potatoes as well which should prevent any choking. Mixes quickly in feeder...
Looking for a 20 ton drive under silo to load the diet feeder. Was thinking Collinson or EB, but came across V Mac silos. They are either made in England or Ireland, has anyone had experience with them, they seem very keenly priced? Any other makes out there that anyone could recommend?
Looking for a new shear bucket and looking for users and opinions on the different brands available. 2 most likely candidates are Albutt or Shelbourne at the moment but open to suggestions.
Thinking to put a tub magnet in. Using a forage wagon more recently and bales.

I've been keen on the sustainable/ regenerative/ holistic type of ag however you label it for 25 years but I can't help but feel especially on twitter there is a bit of both overthinking and overstating it.
Crop production at its heart is really very simple. You put a seed in the ground and it...

Looking for info about mobile grain driers like Mecmar In terms of purchase price, fuel consumption, maintence cost etc. Really few here In Denmark but they seems to be more common In the UK so tell me the good and bad points. Tia
Is a TMR tracking system for a feeder wagon.
Like Keenans pace but a generic system.
Does anyone have the system or know much about it.
Looking to improve ration consistency with multiple operators.
And track intakes better.
Like most events, our annual open day at our manufacturing site in County Carlow, Ireland has had to be cancelled because of Covid-19.
Instead, we are holding a 10-day sale of refurbished 'Approved-used' and second-hand KEENAN diet feeders from June 22–30. With prices starting from £40 per...
Looking to upgrade an old tractor was thinking either MF 6480/90 or 7616/18 series. Is there much difference between the 76 & 77 series, was the 76 bad so introduced 77 series - or was it emission’s related. Did/ do the 7618 50 k. versions suffer gearbox issues or because smaller framed not -...

A suggestion of @betweenthelines, probably long overdue for most of us, this thread seems like one with a real future to it...
I'll start, something relatively minor, but irritating nonetheless: putting in some thunderbolts to hold a mini-sleeper to a wall so I can attach some rails...

Our feeding tractor is a 2013 JD 7200R. It has recently had a mechanical failure. The splines on the transmission input shaft have worn badly, wearing off the splines on the yoke. This also happened about a year ago and we replaced the yoke and continued on. Talking to our independent...
