Currently running a Horsch Sprinter on 1 inch Dutch openers for all my drilling. Has anyone on similar wide rows reduced the seed rate? I’m thinking as the seeds are much more concentrated in the narrow row compared to most drills they will be over crowded and outcompete each other? The last...
Has anyone got experience of the Horizon DSX. It’s new to the market but has some smart ideas across the drill and £/m seems reasonable. Just wanted to know if those ideas and cost actually come together to make a decent direct drill. I’m on clay ground and looking to drill into a mixture of...
I remain baffled as to why more farmers aren't adopting less power consuming options for establishment of their crops. If output can be maintained then why not? It really does slash fuel, machinery and labour costs and, in our case, not had any impact on yield. Having said that, we considered...

This is a thread for those who feel guilty about cluttering up dear old GUTH’s beloved price tracker with the chit chat that stop us all being that miserable our families would throw us all out to sit with the dog in the porch. All are welcome, you can even post prices if you want. The only rule...
How do I sign in to the app without upgrading sorry if this has been posted before. If I try to sign in through the app it gives me the option of logout or spend money to upgrade. This is the first time I've used the app so sorry if this is a stupid question.
The Growing Climate Solutions Act recently passed in the Senate by an overwhelming majority of 92 to 8 and is now headed to the House of Representatives. This is a huge step in ensuring that carbon market ecosystems are here to stay as a real solution to fight climate change. If passed by the...

RESOURCE EXPLAINED:
Periods of no plant cover between cash crops increase the risk of nitrogen (N) leaching, weed development and soil erosion, particularly on sandy soils where these effects can cause significant environmental and economic problems, alongside a lack of soil organic matter...

Anybody go? The Good, the Bad, the Ugly? Watching the first video on Youtube ground conditions looked testing with wet clay land and the soil pit actually filling with water overnight!!
Interested to hear people who went thoughts?
Cheers
Alistair
Does anyone have any experience or knowledge of the benefit/drawback of these two. I used to like the original duetts on a Horsch CO which banded the seed, so similar to the open backed single dutch. Or is rowing the seed into 2 rows better?
Many thanks.
Has anyone sown Maize with a 30 drill? been asked to sow some for a local shoot, and was thinking if I could sow with every other tube blocked off it would leave the rows about 12 "apart. Any help appreciated.
Any ideas as to whom / where to get such a system.

I posted a thread back in June 29 2019 titled "One...
