Phew.
Or £13,735 deposit and £313/month for 3 years which equals £695/month, and then it's another £14,000 if you want to keep it.
You can buy a whole garage of interesting cars for that!

Most of the self employed tradesmen round here are riding around in similar, on the business I expect, vat reclaimable, the way things are going £313 is some way less than one and a half days pay a month.

I’ve a ranger with 150,000 miles on it I use for work. It’s fine for plodding about the farm, getting bits etc, and not due us anything.

I don’t get why folk would want a pickup as a personal vehicle to pick up the kids, get the shopping, go to town in etc. Big, awkward to park, no room in back seats, heavy on fuel and crap steering lock.

And what the hell do the toonsers who buy them put in the back?

People are buying into the idea of a "lifestyle" - much the same with the Chelsea tractor fad of a few years ago, currently the crossovers & now moving to pickups. I know a sparky who has one "for work" - absolute waste of time as he can't store anything in it, park it on a job and it gets emptied!

The other part of it is the proliferation of PCP type finance deals that allow folk to borrow more than they could afford with conventional loans - this allows car manufacturers & dealers to bump prices up to make their sales figures look good.

Folk don’t realise all these fancy finance deals make things much more expensive than they ought to be, then they wonder why they depreciate as much lol
