Got the weights and grades back from BWMB and the 2020 wool value is valued at 0.00ppkg. I am hoping that its just because we are early in the season and they are still to set the values! (Which looks like it maybe the case as they havn't paid the remainder of 2019 wool even though the values are there) Other wise dosn't look like the clippers invoice will be covered this year.

Had an email letter from BWMB, they currently are not going to pay for this year's wool until 2021 but you will get the outstanding payment from 2019. There is another thread on here somewhere about this.

The 0.000ppkg is the advance, which BWMB have said they cant/won't pay this year due to c19 situation and the fact they've been left with 1/3 of last years wool.

You should get last year's paid, what they've sold at least, plus an average for what's left - effectively an advance on that.

They did send out emails/letters.

wool markets opened here the last few weeks back a fair bit with the C19 thing
heard of one guy getting offered 70 cent a kg and told to take the oddments home with him from a local buyer
not looking that good at the moment
guessing alot of areas. mills not going and alot of unknown in the markets at this stage.

All natural fibres are suffering sudden over supply as C-19 hits down stream manufacturing. Synthetic fibres can just turn off production until the demand catches up, but naturals have to be stored or "given" away, or stored and probably negatively affect next years prices, or dumped. Wool is just 4% of global natural fibre production, so just a minor player and minor players get hurt first and longest.

I obviously can't speak for the BWMB but you'd think they should be OK about that - you/we will in effect be storing it for them and if we don't send it in, it won't trigger the payment for last year.

We could be sneaky though, and send just one sheet (or even just one fleece :woot: ) then we'd get last year's money

If you ring and ask, I would think they’d send last year’s payment anyway, the same as if you didn’t have any wool to take. That’s what my mother did at home, when I brought the sheep up here. It’s our money, from wool already sold.

You have to bear in mind the BWMB won't have an infinite supply of sheets. I'm sure they carry a % more than they need, year to year, but if we all store our wool - in their sheets - they will need to lay out even more of our money to get more sheets made for next year's wool...

Do sheets really cost that much, I would just buy a few if your short. I’m gonna store mine as it seems shite I will check at back End but I take it to wool traders anyway and their less fussed about how you chuck it in and contamination etc, if markets collapsed in sure they will be just as low as bwmb

If the price doesn't rise, you might not need 'em

Typical
The Scots get special treatment yet again :playful:

........meanwhile,the poor, downtrodden English have to make do with sheets that are basically a load of holes sewn together with some tatty bits of string :banghead: :bag::bag:

:playful:

All them holes in your bags are just your fellow "inquisitive" countrymen going in from the wrong end :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :censored:

Maybe our wool is worth more, so we get better sheets to ensure it gets to the auctions ;)
