And here’s one from our other major supermarket

Love the ad with Curtis Stone. Where are our top chefs advertising our beef? The Australia Day lamb ads are fantastic, funny, engaging and with proper national, not jingoistic pride. The idea of anything like that appearing here is very unlikely, the nearest thing to that we have are the Colmans mustard adverts.

surely there are any number of great advertising agencies / PR people who could come up with something worthy ?
Or is the client & their brief the problem ?

But this is what the levy payers have called for, AHDB to do advertising with their subs.

Yes, but as said earlier, they aren't doing it are they, they have walked away from it all a week ago. Am about to email the campaign with the questions I asked earlier, something stinks here.

Yup.

I honestly think that no-one at AHDB gives a flying fudge. I have emailed them twice in the last couple of months suggesting they should correct the glaring typo in a heading on this page, they still haven't bothered. And when I say I emailed the AHDB, I mean the top two people. Rotten at the top ?

Commitment.
These folks put more effort in before breakfast than we do all day.

Can't argue with their commitment, same old load of their version of the "truth" though.
Unfortunately they know how to use social media fully to their advantage. It's all right us all taking comfort in the current sales of beef and lamb but the next generation is a ticking time bomb unless we and our entitled industry representatives get off our collective arses.

What I find incredible is that they have put that on the fb page and it is still there, along with all the other vitriol.
We have a fb page, looked after by a volunteer, any sign of trouble she is on to it.
Levy payers are all paying good money for this AHDB campaign, yet all they are doing is putting a post up once a week, looks like it is simply pre-programmed for every Tuesday, and otherwise not even bothering to look at it. It is completely and utterly pathetic.

Now is the time with beef and lamb prices at a high to put your hands in you pocket and drive forward an advertising campaign.

No whining, oh its making up for the lows, we need the money in our pockets.

Speculate to accumulate!
We have been paying for years , they are up in price yes but Jesus Christ they are not winning lottery tickets , watch the brown envelopes get bigger on the back of it .

So you found that lovely vegan film on the AHDB Facebook page?
Jesus christ, you couldn't make it up. :banghead: :banghead::banghead:

It is there now. This is what I have been trying to get folks on this thread to understand all week, that AHDB are applying no moderation on the fb page or the other social media for this campaign. I don't do twitter but had a look at the twitter this morning, the only post in the last week is a vegan recipe put up by an enterprising poster.

If I treated my paying customers with this much contempt I'd be out of a job.
Now there's a thought 💡

The CEO has had a highly successful career in the media.
How can someone with that background preside over this debacle ?
The clue is in the word 'had'. By the time they get to the cushty number that is the AHDB, they don't care anymore. Made their name and their money, this is just a gentle wind down to retirement.

Have just had another look at the fb page. I hope to hell that no interested member of the public does. What an awful advert for our business. What a damning indictment of the industry, that we get all excited about finally, finally launching a media campaign to promote the environmental benefits of our product and then show ourselves to be such incompetent imbeciles.

Come on AHDB you need to up your game. The ad is weak and where are you fact based, well reasoned responses to the clearly vegan biased comments above? Anyone visiting this post who is on the fence is more likely to stop eating meat altogether than to include more British produced meat in their weekly shop

The above comment from a farmer on the fb page says it all.
I have just, finally, got through to someone on the number on the We Eat Balanced website.
Third time of trying; yesterday answerphone, earlier today just rang and rang. Clearly not that fussed about people actually wanting to talk to them about their 'high profile national advertizing campaign' .
Chap who just answered isn't actually part of the we eat balanced campaign, that person "isn't around".
Anyway, nice chap, we had a chat about it all, he is going to pass on my observations.

What the hell is going on here ? This thread has had over 4k views. That's hundreds of you who pay serious amounts of levy. Dozens of you who know people within AHDB. Do none of you care ?
